What to expect
The Formation program is designed for Polish undergraduate and masters students (graduating between December 2027 and June 2029), pairing hands-on technical prep, senior engineering mentorship, and career coaching to help you excel in a software engineering internship.
This hands-on, intensive program requires a commitment of 15 to 40 hours per week. It operates fully remote, allowing participants to complete tasks on their own schedule. However, participants must be available for live group sessions during some evenings.
Who should apply?
- Polish university students pursuing a BS/MA in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics) graduating between December 2027 and June 2029.
- People passionate about autonomous driving technology, with previous internship or project experience.
- Individuals fully fluent in English both written and verbal.
- Individuals who can commit a minimum of 15 hours a week to the program between June 29, 2026 - October 16, 2026.

This program opens doors for students in Poland pursuing a career in tech, pairing personalized software engineering prep with world-class mentorship from top engineers across the tech industry.
To be considered for the program, prospective participants must submit an application to Formation, complete a coding benchmark assessment, and interview with a Formation Recruiter.

The Formation program uses adaptive prep technology to assess an applicant’s abilities and build a custom roadmap to the skills for a Software Engineering Internship at Waymo.

Prep for Waymo Intern Engineering roles
Participants will develop and refine their skills by working with senior engineers who provide detailed and actionable feedback during 1:1 and small technical group sessions. Then, participants can put their skills to the test with mock interviews with practicing engineers from top companies.

Finish your application with industry recruiters
While participants sharpen their technical skills, they'll also work with career coaches and technical recruiters to refine their resume, craft a personal pitch, and fine-tune their interview skills.

Interview at Waymo
Participants who are fully dedicated to the program and demonstrate high technical ability will have the opportunity to interview for a summer 2027 Software Engineering Internship at Waymo’s Warsaw office; however, neither an internship nor a full-time offer is guaranteed.

- How much does the program cost?
There is no cost to the program - it's free! - How does the remote program work?
Mentor-led and peer sessions are live and take place based on your availability. - Can I take classes or work while in the program?
Students are able to work or study while participating in the Formation program, but we do not recommend having multiple commitments outside. - Do I need to be authorized to work in Poland to join the program?
Yes, program participants must be authorized to work in Poland. - How many participants will be selected for the program?
10 participants will be accepted. - Do participants need to be fluent in English to participate in the program?
Yes, all learning materials and sessions will be conducted in English. - Does the Waymo × Formation program guarantee an internship at Waymo?
An internship with Waymo is not guaranteed, but qualified students will have an opportunity to interview for an internship for Summer 2027.
